An RV roof is a membrane over wooden decking with a dozen holes cut in it, and every one of those holes is sealed with a bead of lap sealant. That bead is the only thing between your ceiling and the sky. In this climate UV attacks it constantly: it goes chalky, then it splits, and then water runs under the membrane and sits on the decking where nothing dries.
Nobody notices at that stage. The stain that finally appears inside is the last symptom, not the first, and by then you are usually replacing wood rather than sealant.
We get on the roof before quoting. Self-levelling sealant goes on horizontal penetrations, non-sag on verticals, and where the membrane has failed it gets cut back to sound material rather than covered over. Soft decking comes out - patching over rot buys a season and costs the same twice.
If the water has been travelling, finding the entry point matters more than the stain. Most of this happens where the rig is parked, and damage that broke the outer skin is body work rather than a reseal.
