The West Valley has a lot of open-air storage and a lot of rigs kept at home on wider lots, and Glendale sits in the middle of both. What we see here more than elsewhere is sun damage on one side of the rig only - the west-facing flank of a coach that has been parked the same way round for years takes a very different beating from the other side, and the seals on that side go first.
The clearest pattern in the West Valley is asymmetry. A rig parked the same way round for years takes the full afternoon load on its west-facing flank and comparatively little on the other, and after a few seasons the difference is obvious: chalked decals, hardened window and door seals, and brittle awning fabric on one side while the other looks years younger.
Turning the rig around occasionally genuinely helps, and so does anything that shades that flank. Neither replaces keeping the roof sealed.
Glendale has plenty of both open-air storage and homes with room to keep the rig on the property, so we work in driveways as often as in storage rows here. Wide residential lots make mobile work straightforward - there is usually space to get a ladder up and work properly.
